Project Overview: The Chesapeake Queen is a new cruise and event vessel based in Cape Charles, Virginia, offering scenic harbor cruises, private charters, and special events. They needed a website that clearly communicated their offerings, reflected the experience of being aboard the ship, and made it easy for guests to explore cruise options and take the next step to book online.
The goal of this project was to create a clean, welcoming, and easy-to-navigate website that supported both marketing and future growth.
Design & Build Process: The project focused on clarity, organization, and usability. Working closely with The Chesapeake Queen team, we created the site to guide visitors through cruise options and to book online.
The design emphasizes simplicity and flow, utilizing imagery from local artist, Marina Pierce, of Photo By the Bay and a clean design. The site was built using the Astra Theme and Elementor page builder which allowed for responsive design, intuitive navigation, and ease of use as the client makes future updates to the website.
In addition to design and development, I incorporated essential SEO foundations, privacy policy, and accessibility considerations to support visibility, compliance, and long-tern sustainability.
Client Partnership: This project involved working through some logistical considerations to bring the website to completion. Through open communication and collaboration we were able to overcome challenges and align the final site with the Chesapeake’s Queen’s vision and operational needs.
A Site for the Future: The Chesapeake Queen’s new website is designed to grow with the business. As a long-term asset that will support marketing efforts, improve the visitor experience, and adapt with the growth of the business.
